When the Inner Storm Clouds Roll In

Howdy everyone!

First let me start off by saying how grateful I am that y’all tune into this newsletter/blog thing that I’m doing. Today we broke 550 subscribers which is truly inspiring to me. 🤯

It says that so many of you are looking for massive change in your lives and that includes yours truly.

I’m going to keep this post short and sweet today, because what’s on my mind comes down to simplicity.

I’m currently sitting in a cafe’ and there’s a little girl having the time of her life dancing and laughing while petting two service dogs giving them the time of their doggy lives. All parties are completely immersed in THIS MOMENT. This moment being the only moment. The only time we can do anything about anything.

So why don’t we pay more attention to the moment? Why are our minds sooooo future focused when in reality, the future naturally takes care of itself RIGHT NOW.

I’ve been settling into this notion a lot lately. I’ve been journaling to my higher self (which is just me when my worrisome thoughts drop away). I’ve been asking it what it wants me to know and here’s what it says:

  • This moment is all you have

  • Your mind/ego creates the illusion of being elsewhere

  • Your best ideas come to you when you’re relaxed into NOW

  • Visualize your future self and feel that you are that self NOW

  • By being joyful and immersed in THIS MOMENT you’ll be open to the change you desire

  • By practicing gratitude of what you CURRENTLY HAVE, everything you want will naturally come to fruition and be added unto you

Lately, I’ve been really relaxed into the moment and allowing life to unfold. I’ve been in a profound state of trust. I’ve been waking up ready to enjoy THIS DAY. It feels great to awaken with a groggy, eye booger smile on your face. ;)

Despite the good morning smiles, I’ve also been having moments of fear and uncertainty.

Fear that this new space I’m moving into with mentoring folks like you into discovering their deepest desires won’t work.

Fear that I’m not good enough.

Fear that I can’t help anyone.

Fear of being broke.

Fear of losing everything.

Fear of going back to making money doing something that I’m not in love with.

Even though these fears are arising inside, I am continuing to walk towards my dreams ANYWAYS. I’m trusting that little voice inside telling me to relax into the moment ANYWAYS. Telling me that on the other side of the fear is where your dreams become a reality. Telling me to KEEP GOING

So I listen because I don’t want to live in regret and want to see what’s on the other side of the fear shadow.

I’m using tools to close the gap between when I’m stuck in fear based patterns and when I’m falling back in love with the moment and the process of becoming.

I’m doing things that get me embodied in the HERE and NOW:

  • Taking walks

  • Playing Guitar

  • Deep breathing

  • Going to the gym

  • Eating lighter foods

  • Higher Self Journaling

  • Gratitude visualizations

  • Listening to my fav podcasts

  • Falling in love with THIS MOMENT

  • Reaching out to my peers in service

  • Asking what the fear is pointing towards

  • Paying attention to whats happening NOW

All of these practices bring me back to WHERE I’M AT. They bring me back to ALLOWING the right answers to present themselves. They take me out of my mind and into my direct experience.

The more I break the spell of fearful past/future thinking, the more joy/peace I have in my life. The more I allow life to unfold naturally, the more I become one with the wonder and magic that’s all around me. The more the right answers, intuitions and opportunities present themselves. The more energy and clarity I have to ACT on those opportunities and ideas when they arise.

Developing yourself as a human being requires the understanding and removal of negative habits and belief patterns. It requires you to build awareness around them so that you stop taking the bait and getting hooked by them.

What I am teaching at The Colemination Project is the relationship between enjoying EXACTLY WHERE YOU ARE while simultaneously moving toward WHO YOU WANT TO BE.

As an old Zen Proverb says “You’re perfect exactly as you are AND you can always become even more perfect”.

That’s one of my favorite quotes of all time.

It honors who you are NOW and recognizes the paradox of becoming MORE that is naturally inherent in you and the world at large (which is an extension of you).

I mostly just wanted to be vulnerable with you today. To say that I still have my fears and doubts. To say that you’re not alone in this and to remind you that there is a way out if you really want it.

These fears and doubts ARE NOT your enemy, but signals, misunderstood friends pointing you towards the next best version of you. They don’t mean you’re bad or unworthy. They’re just signs pointing you in the opposite direction.

I’m asking for this feedback so I can get a feel for where y’all are at and write in a way that provides more clarity around some of these challenges.
