Visualization: Your Ideal Life Awaits

The Fundamentals of Change (Part 4)

AAAANNNDD WE’RE BACK!

Since beginning of this Twitter/Newsletter journey and hurling myself in the unknown space of “Holy fuck I love this, but how will I make any money doing it?” I’ve had quite a few close encounters with scraping it all and calling it a day.

True to form however, I’ve decided to bite the bullet and practice what I preach which is this: KEEP GOING. (Unless you actually just hate what you’re doing in which you should do something else like NOW)

SO! In light of the fact that I’m gonna be here a while since it seems to be my “Destiny” 🤓 I figured we better get on with it and talk about the next step in the transformation process. VISUALIZATION.

We’ve all heard of visualization in some form and for a long time, even yours truly thought it was a bunch of hooey. I thought there might be something to it, but I didn’t fully realize just how important it is to the process of transforming your life from the ground up.

There are A TON of ways you can practice visualization, but there are only a couple of key elements that matter in the matter.

I’m bout’ to give you a few of those strategies and the key elements to making it a worthwhile investment of your time.

Let’s start with the fundamental elements:

  1. FEELING

In order to make any of this woo woo stuff work and connect fruitfully with the cosmic being that is everything, we have to actually FEEL that what we are visualizing is true or that it will certainly become true.

Without the faith piece of feeling like it’s going to happen, it’s just a dead thought and can make you feel even less confident in it than when you started.

This can be a little tricky at first because it may be a bit difficult for you to imagine the thing you want and actually put yourself in that feeling state in the beginning.

This is totally ok and normal. You’re not defective if you can’t fully get there on day one. Just do this in chunks. 5-10 minutes a day until you can get the hang of it.

After all, when you do eventually create the life you desire you’re going to have a certain feeling. If you can feel your way into what it’s like in your imagination to have it NOW then you’ve already won. Feels good doesn’t it?

OK? Ok.

The reason feeling is so important is because it reprograms your subconscious mind to start chasing that feeling and interacting with the quantum thing (Life) we’re living in.

Once the feeling has been felt enough times of what your future life and self is like, it (subconscious mind) will start going to work for you. It will give you the right ideas, intuitions and actions to take at the right time to bring that thing to fruition.

You’ll begin to focus on it more and just “happen” to meet others that can help you get there. That’s where life starts to become almost “magical”. Not in a Disney way, but in a “holy shit this woo woo crap actually works” way.

It’s actually very practical when broken down. On to Step numero dos’.

2. SURRENDER/FAITH

Ok so I’ll keep this part short and sweet. Other than feeling, this is the most important part. The other half of the coin.

This may be the most challenging part because you have to let go of that incessant little part that wants to control everything. This is where trust that it’ll work out comes in. It WILL happen if you continue to FOCUS, FEEL and ALLOW it to happen.

Your mind will want to (and will) come in and say well if I go do this thing that’s calling me, how do I KNOW it’s going to work out? And that’s when you’ve just got to take a deep breath and realize that you can’t know how or that it’s going to work out. It’s impossible.

All you know is that there’s the next step in front of you and that’s all you have to know. TAKE THAT STEP. And then take the next and then the next. What matter most is THE PERSON YOU BECOME along the way.

The truth of it will unfold. I know it’s scary, you’re gonna screw it up and the little mind bugger is gonna keep asking the question “BUT HOW!?”. Again, it’s fine, this is normal. Take time to soothe and take breaks when needed. The mental storm clouds will pass, I promise.

I’ve walked this road and am still walking it. It is safe. It’s where true adventure and your hearts deepest joy and calling lies.

Alright, now that we’ve got that part out of the way (stay with me) let’s move onto the strategies of visualization.

  1. CREATE A MEMORY

Find a friend or family member and play a little game. Act as though you haven’t seen them in a year and you bump into them on the street. Everything that you had dreamed of becoming and accomplishing in the last year you’ve accomplished. You’re living your ideal life.

I want you to tell them all about it in the past tense. Tell them to dig and ask questions about EVERYTHING that you want your life to be like 1 year from now but in past tense form. You can do this on a longer timeline too if you want, but 1 year is a good starting point.

The reason we speak in the past tense is because it’s getting us into a state of KNOWING. Since it’s already happened it’s easy for our subconscious mind to believe that it’s happened. The FEELING is created easily and the FAITH is deeply entrenched because you’re treating it as though you’ve already lived it.

It’s a really fun exercise so just play with it.

  1. A DAY IN THE LIFE

OK so in this exercise I want you to visualize a day in the life of your ideal self and lifestyle.

First, lie down and close your eyes. Take some deep breaths and get into a relaxed/meditative state. Put yourself in a place 1 to 10 years out from today and imagine waking up and being the most ideal version of yourself you can imagine.

What does the room look like? Where are you living? Who’re your friends/romantic partner(s)? What’s your morning routine look like? Where do you go throughout the day and who do you interact with? What kind of work do you do? What kind of play do you do? What level of fitness are you in? How much money do you have in the bank?

You get the idea. Make sure to keep in mind that you really FEEL what that’s like.

  1. STORY TIME

As you all know, I’m partial to writing things as a way of creating, so my last strategy as spoken about in my previous post is WRITING.

This idea around rewiring the subconscious mind is deeply connected with writing. Typing works, but if you have it in you to put actual pen to paper and write, then that in my opinion, is the most effective tool.

Actually as I’m writing this, I checked my phone and saw a Tweet from Andrew Huberman about how when we take hand written notes about something we read or listen to, it deeply embeds those things into memory.

Imagine that, I’m writing about programming the subconscious mind with writing and the first thing I see on my phone is this tweet. See, this woo woo crap is no joke.

The mere act of focus and desire sets the stage for the appearance of the confirmation of that focus and desire.

Here’s the tweet:

Any-who, thanks for entertaining my tangent there. To my point, writing is an AMAZING form of literally re-writing your story.

Think about it, you put the pen to paper, you get ideas out of your head, you are visualizing them in real time and actually taking the next step in the process of creation which is making it manifest on a piece of paper.

Then it’s out of you head and you can look at it everyday and make it easy to conjure in your mind moving forward.

DO IT.

Alright, well that’s all I’ve got for you guys today. Next week I’m going to be releasing my first 7 day challenge pertaining to transforming your current mortal self in the the ultimate player in your story so stay tuned for that!

I would love your support and love to interact with you on a more personal level throughout that process, plus you’ll be making some big strides forward in your life and hanging out with little ol’ me.

Until next time champions, as always, With Gratitude
